Question Just installed VAFC

So I installed it and drove to the gym......on my way I VTEC in every gear after shes warmed up and she doesn;t VTEC. The install was perfect on the pluga nd play harness....15min into the drive I try again and back to VTEC!!!! I didn;t change any of the settings and VTEC still says 5.6k etc. So I check the no 3 menu which is "etc" and it says car type is 6 cylinder. Well I change it to 4 just in case. So I tried to restart car several times and VTEc is normal..........go to gym about an horu go back out and still VTEC, then to subway and back out and VTEC again.

Why did I not have VTEC for the 1st 15min of my drive after the install?

She will be going in sat morning for a dyno tune

Don't you have to initialize the VAFC first? I seem to recall having to adjust some settings (such as cylinders) before it could be used.

Did you read the instructions?

lol no im taking it to the tuning place on sat, the instructions are confusing as ##$@##@, ...So would it have being default to 6 cylinder have messed up my VTEC?
After I put it to 4 cylinders I said yes to initalize it and I didnt change nay of the other settings and thats where it is now. So they are all default except changing it to 4 cylinder and now VTEC has been normal....weird

If it calculates RPM (as I think it does) by counting ignition pulses, end expects 6 cylinders but has 4... It would be off by a factor 1.5.

So you would get VTEC engagement at 5.6 krpm * 1.5 = 8.4 krpm. No wonder it never engaged...
