No VTECing until after 600 miles and check your oil often!

Welcome! Congratulations on your choice ride and finding this site. Both excellent moves on your part (IMO).

So they say.....

I dug into it a few times during break-in and mine seems very strong and burns very little oil. I have heard others post the same things. Then I have heard others not v-tec for at least 1k miles and burn lots of oil....

Use your own judgement and have a ball!

One very important tip.

If you are cornering close to the limit and the car goes into v-tec, be very careful. There is quite a power rush there and it is very easy to lose control of the car if you are not careful. But, once you have gotten used to this, powerslides are very easy.

Although, I am sure they are not as easy as in your old SS.

Welcome to the board! Enjoy! It may take several thousand miles before you feel at one with this exceptional machine. That is, not grinding gears and learning to blip the throttle (rev match) for smooth downshifts. Don't rush it. People here, for the most part, are a class act and very helpful. You may find a club in your area to join. Once the search engine is back online, you'll find a wealth of information on the S2K. My goal is to not abuse my car (8000 RPM clutch drops) and enjoy the twisties in SE Ohio. So far I've had no problems with the car and it's been a good getaway machine for me. A real mood enhancer. Many times I am or , but in the S2k I am always

Congrats on the new ride. From a person who has owned many black vehicles, (still have a black Tundra), get a nice coat or three of Zaino on that baby. The paint might look new and flawles now, but give it a few washes and the swirls will start to show.
Enjoy!
