K&N Air Filter *Be Awared*
I ordered a K&N Air Filter a week ago from Autozone. I went and picked it up today.
I removed the OEM air filter from the airbox and replaced it with the K&N Air Filter without checking for debris.
After installing, I was about to start up the engine and take it out for a spin, but I felt something wasn't right. So I took the the K&N Air Filter back out after installing it and checked for debris and ...
As you can see, there are 4 big chucks of rubber that I took out from the inside of the filter.
Hmm... What would have happened if I had started up the engine?
I don't know if this has been discussed before, but I just wanted to share this with you guys. Appearantly, these chucks came off from the edge of the rubber tube from the inside. So remember ALWAYS check before you install air filter from K&N.

It's always safer to not have this foreign stuff enter your engine.
Since K&N don't seem to be concernerd enough to print a warning, I'd assume that a piece of this stuff would only exit the tailpipe as a puff of black smoke.
