K & N Filter for S2000...Is It Worth It?
Not sure how helpful I can be, but I just recently dyno'd my car and found out the following;
1. My K&N FIPK is sucking in hot air. I could stand to benefit somewhat with an AEM V2 or Comptech CAI.
2. There is no #2

I feel this statement is a little extreme. Any exrta dirt if any will go right into the oil which will get changed during your oil change interval. There is no question the OEM paper filter will have better filtration over a higer flowing gauze/cotton element. It's a trade off, I just bought a AFE filter and am pleased with it. It flow's much better than the stock paper element. I feel if you want a little extra performance go with a high flow gauze or cotton filter, if not stay stock.
to an extent. what do you think the oil "filter" does??? yes it reduces contaminats, besides that, just change your oil more often! and your fine, there is always a trade off i say every HP gain is worth it even if its 2-3 (wich in this case is to the wheels by the way) specially if your not forced inducted hence the reason why NA it the "harder" route for power. so anybody used the comptech filter? anybody?
i have used a K&N in three cars now, no dirt. in my miata i checked the intake pipe on my rb cold air intake and found nothing after 12,000miles. so i cannot subscribe to the notion that K&N sells these things so that you can allow dirt to come into your engine intake. rumor alarm sounded.
