First thing I put on the car was the K&N intake. Looked at AEM and Ingen but settled on K&N. Couldn't be happier. I still don't have exhaust mod yet, but the K&N made the engine come alive and sounds great in VTEC. Hydrolock shouldn't be an issue with this config.

Thanks for the link. the quality isn't great, but I can definitely hear the growl in the midrange. It sounds really nice. I wonder how the performance gains stack up.

Per K&N you gain 9.5whp with the FIPK. Someone on here who did back to back dyno's got 5whp and 7.5wtq IIRC.

That's not bad at all for a ~$200 mod. I think you guys have me sold too. I heard good things about Injen's but don't want to risk the hydrolock.

Can anyone post actual pictures of their engine bay with the K&N in there?

OOPS! Thanks for letting me know.

Looks kind of weird without a cover. I think I like the comptech better.

Is that heat shield really efficient? Does the hood provide the "lid" when it's closed? If not it seems like the heat shield would be kind of useless.

That sheild aids in preventing Hydrolock. Keeps water from road out. It's not much a heat sheild, that's why they make the Typhoon which is a CAI.
