What's with this pressing the remote 3 times???? Mine only takes 2. Big deal! Pressing a little button twice.
If you also want to open the trunk, which my wife and I usually do, the limited range of the remote means you end up standing there waiting while holding the trunk release. Not a big deal, but an annoyance.

Regarding autolocking cars - my wife's Jetta does this too, but only after reaching 8 mph. I thought I'd hate it, but I've found it to be okay.

pppl who are pressing 3 times are pressing too fast. press pause press is all you need.
i did the one button unlock mod. i love it , hardest part is accessing the wires. it's so small the footwell area

Slightly different question along a similar vein - is there any way to mod it so that manually unlocking the drivers door from the inside will also unlock the passenger door? Its a pain having to reach across from the drivers seat every time...
there's another mod i did. it's posted here somewhere. in essence what it does it that it makes the car not recognize disable the key remote when the car ignition is on.
when you have that, bascially you can lock and unlock and open the trunk with your keyless remote. it's nice when you dont want open the center console just to pop the trunk. especially if you want to leave it locked all the time.

I agree it's not so bad - as long as it unlocks all doors automatically. Stupid Ford/DC cars I've driven only unlock the driver door so you have to let out your passengers every time you stop. It's very annoying.
