Keyless is nice, I have it on my Mitsubishi CUV. The only problem is that you end up carrying around the large remote in addition to your house keys.

I wonder if this is why Porsche puts the ingnition to the left of the steering wheel?
I read the below info several years ago.....

Porsche has their keys on the left side due to the LaMans start from decades ago. This is where the drivers were on one side of pit row with a hand on the wall and they cars were lined up on the oposite side - engines off. When the race started they sprinted across pit row and hopped into the car, it was an advantage to have the key on the left so you could select the gear and start the car at the same time.

So the reason does go back to racing, but a slightly different reason.

Their is a merc that you just have a credit card sized remote thing. You are actually supposed to put it in your wallet.

So has anyone tried to install the Motorcycle key less start? If so was it successful. Please PM me if you have or know of someone who has. Also if you have and wouldn't mind sharing how you did it that would be even better.
Thanks

this was one feature i didn't understand...at least from practicality point of view. put the key in, turn the key, then press a button...i dono. same with like bmw ...you have to push the key in then push a button next to it. i think the nissan/infiniti keyless is pretty cool though especially on a cheap car like an altima.

I believe it has something to do about being able to start your car back up fast (at the track). For example, you spin out and your engine cuts... you can put the car back to first and start the car with your other hand at the same time.... I think.. haha.

you don't have to insert the fob for bmws with comfort access. it just has to be close enough inside the car. all you do is push the button and the car starts.
