Default kinda odd question

So this is in reference to a 01 S2000 with a hardtop

The convertibles top latch. as in were the hard top latches on to and the soft top. It is located right above the visor. They come lose ALL the time. It is causing my hardtop to rattle now. Is this common? Is there a TSB out there on it? any ideas on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance
And BTW i have tightened them down many times and it does no good.

Most people say that you should upgrade the strikers if you have a hardtop and an AP1. Here is a DIY on how to do it https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=517300.

Good luck.

Also, some people use little bits of aquarium tubing on the hooks to tighten things up.

I have a bag of cotten balls in the back trunk just for these situation. Just stuff cotten balls into the latches and when the cotten ball gets flaten over time just but new ones in. Its work for me so far and my cotten ball bag is still half full
