Default Kinda Strange Trunk question...

I'm on the verge of buying an s2000 and I'm curious as to whether I'll be able to carry my bass in the trunk of the car or not. When I test drove the car, I forgot to take my bass with me so that I could check. I did pop the trunk and it looks like it would be close, but I was hoping that maybe a couple of s2ki members might have experience in this area. Any help is appreciated.

I wouldn't bet on it. My regular guitar barely fits.

Front seat is your best bet.

Is it a problem with width or length?

My Ric 4001 case won't fit in the trunk, so I carry it in the front seat I don't know about the bass sans case , I always transport it in a case. I have Steinberger that fits in the trunk just fine, so I think any headless bass will fit.

Heh, it's not really a question of buying it - I just want to be prepared for how I'm going to have to lug this thing around (it will be a daily driver). Looks like I'll be heading down to Dallas this week to pick one up. Thanks for your answers guys.

Have to do front seat. If you take out the spare tire and have a soft case gig bag you may be able to, but if you're running with a full size hardcase forget it. Gotta use the front with the top down.

I do use a gig bag - no hard case. I compared it to my golf bag and it the same height so I'm crossing my fingers. I'm under the impression that the trunk can hold a normal sized golf bag.

I am able to put an acoustic guitar in a gig bag in the trunk with plenty of length to spare. I would imagine a bass in a gig bag would be fine.

Although I'm sure you're all talking about an electric bass, this discussion paints a picture in my mind of an S cruising down the highway with a concert double bass strapped in the passenger's seat. It'd probably make the strings hum. HPH
