I support pete on this case. As just a member, from what I saw in the thread, he is doing this without a profit which benefits owners of the car we all in love with. None of us want our car to be broken into and seats stolen.

I strongly believe that this non-profit GB should be a exception.

cheers,

Seems like the sponsors are putting the squeeze on you. Find out what cthree will charge you as a permanent sponsor for this ONE important product line. I think an exception should be allowed in this case because you are only selling the item to registered S2000 owners. Just think of who would buy them if they were for sale on eBay? As with any sales product, make some profit and leave a little for the advertising.

Okay. I sent a PM to cthree about the situation, and I will wait patiently for his response.

I also called and left a message for the McGard rep to put our order on hold. It is extremely embarassing to have to do this only a few hours after placing the order, and I hope that McGard won't hold it against me if we try do do future orders. I told the rep that I am hoping to be able to clarify everything on Monday, but we will see what happens.
Thanks everyone, for supporting me in this endeavor!

I sleep better at night knowing I have the seat locks in my S2000. If anything is worth a small bending of the rules, this seems the product to warrant it. In any case, to shut it down so late seems punative.

Suggestion: Some transition plan should be proposed after this proposed group buy either to (1) sponsorship or (2) turning the retailing of this product over to a sponsor, with some compensation arrangement agreeable to all parties.

As for my fujitsubo GB post it was deleted without any explanation. . .
No explanation is required. This forum is private property, and the owner can do what he wants without having to explain himself. If he wants to delete your post because you have purple hair, you're outta here. That's just the way it is.

I believe sponsorship starts at $100 a month. You may also be able to sell in the S2KI store, but the toll is 13%. Too steep for me.

WOW...SEATS are being stolen??? I'm learning something new every day out here. Not that I wanted to know that particular piece of info. Yikes...guess I need to watch my baby even more closely. I assume this is happening to people who have to park their cars outdoors at night? They aren't being stolen in broad daylight are they?

Rules are rules ladies and gents, if I bend it for one then I must bend it for all.

KW-AP1: Sorry to hear your post was removed, but it wasn't by me. I send a PM every time I remove a post, so if you don't get a PM then it most likely wasn't me.

Pete: If you are going to be upset about me removing your post and post a rebuttal, at least try to put it in the correct forum (i.e. Site Info). It also appeared that you would be profiting off of this group buy, which is a big no-no; if I'm wrong I'll apologize in advance, but it seems that way.

If any of you have any questions about the group buy policy, you can find everything you need to know here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthre...&threadid=81873.

*EDIT* This is the correct link: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.php?...&threadid=81873

Where did you get the idea that I was upset about you removing my thread? I believe I posted in this thread that I thought that you were doing your job, and also that you were cool about everything. You are reading my posts, aren't you?

Losing all of my money on this order could be disastrous, but I don't think I've posted my feelings about it!

The purpose of this thread was to inform my fellow owners, who have been contacting me about the Seat Locks, as to what happened to my New Seat Lock thread! I know that you PM'd me about it, but how is everyone else going to know what happened? I also feel bad for the owners that want the Locks, because I know it sucks to worry about having your seats stolen.

I'm not going to weigh in on either side of this issue and I'm not even sure what this particular thing does - locks the seats so they don't get stolen? I will say this - Ilikebeer was just doing his job by enforcing the rules. That doesn't mean this thread has to die here. Threads are never removed, just moved to a private forum and they can be moved back. Once Cthree sees your PM he can review the thread and decide if he wants to make an exception or how best to otherwise deal with this situation. The rules are designed so people don't make a profit off selling new items without helping S2KI pay it's bills a little bit, and so non-paying vendors don't compete with sponsors (obviously not the case here). In any case, I think once Cthree looks at the situation he'll be fair.

Pete - if you can publicly state that you will be making exactly $0.00 off of this and not receiving anything at all for your efforts (and show that no other sponsor carries this product), then chances are it will ok'd.

The rest of you must realize that just because this might benefit the general community short term, doesn't mean we can go shredding the site regulations and policies every time someone comes around with a new product. If that were the case we wouldn't have any site sponsors, and hence, no site.
