Okay, already.

I already publicly stated in this thread that it is possible for me to profit from the group buy, and it it also possible for me to lose money. I am not saying anything new. If you research the 4 or 5 previous threads about the Seat Locks, I always stated that was the case.

This whole thing started just because I wanted these kinds of locks made for my car, and the only way I could get them is to buy a minimum quantity. I did accomplish my goal, so for that I am pleased.

No matter what happens with this issue - IT'S NO BIG DEAL FOR ME!!!

If S2KI wants me to pay to be a vendor, I can just increase the costs on the Seat Locks to cover it. (You guys know I don't want to do that!)

S2KI has always been my oasis for fun, so I'm not going to let this issue ruin my good time.

-Pete

True, even if he was to profit on this deal by a little, it was because of his time and the fact that people came to him is another reason why he should get a little something cause he wasn't hitting people up. Just my .02...

Any update on this? This is a pretty ridiculous and bureaucratic enforcement of this rule. We are encouraged to pay money to help support this site and recently with crap like this and "muting" people I'm definitely not feeling too great about doing that.

Also, I know this is a personal site and the admins can do whatever the hell they want, but if they piss people off they will have to deal with the consequences. Punishing Pete for doing a service to the S2000 community is ridiculous. He took on a risk to get these locks for us and I appreciate the locks I got in his first group buy.

So you are telling me (as a Moderator) I should just ignore site policy, right?

I think everyone is suggesting some flexibility instead of rigid enforcement.

I think Cthree and Pete should sit down and come to an agreement. Maybe a pay per item sold agreement. I don't know how much these things go for but a nominal increase in the sale price of each item to help support this site seems reasonable to me, and as far as I know Cthree has always been open to that type of deal. It helps support the site and doesn't significantly raise the price of the item being sold. I think what many people fail to realize is how much it costs to run a site like this, especially with it's broad appeal and huge bandwidth requirements.

Yes. Just as if someone is driving a couple miles an hour over the limit a cop should let them go too. It's plain and simple, rigid enforcement of anything is wrong.
