Krank Vents Review:
so i ordered some krankvents from automotive speed a few weeks ago and installed them.
i'll begin with the install on my 05.
unfortunately, my install didn't go as smoothly as i had thought it would. the crankcase breather line (the fatter one) isn't rubber. it has a rubber piece about 3-4 inches long thats clamped onto the valve cover, and then clamped onto a metal pipe that runs to the intake. i thought i could fit the krank vent in there but it turns out that i had to buy a pipe cutter, cut a small section of pipe off, and cut the hose in half and use that. i ended up having to buy a new hose though because i had already cut the old one up thinking it would fit and screwed it up. .
all in all, the install went fairly easy, minor complication only cost about 15minutes extra to run to the store.
my first impression upon initial startup came when i pulled out the dipstick. a loud whoosh came and it sucked the dipstick down. so i said cool, its working.
i wasnt expecting a real horsepower gain, so when i drove the car i dindt expect a difference, but even then, it felt a bit smoother at idle and near idle.
i decided it was probably all in my head and said to myself i should drive it for a while to see. and after about 3500 miles driving on them i can feel the car runs a little better. running the car hard it feels like it pulls slightly more, again..nothign drastic, but there is an improvement, and i do feel i notice it.
then came the time to check the oil. my car consumes about 1qt every oil change interval, i change my oil anywhere between 3000-4000 miles depending when i get around to it. right now at 3500 miles i am happy to report NO OIL LOSS! not a single bit. the stick is at the same spot as when i first did the oil change.
so the general conclusion, feels a bit smoother, pulls a tad harder, and it put an end to my oil consumption.
thanks again to automotive speed!

my average is 21mpg.

Thanks guys
I think many people do not know about the krank vents yet and all the benefits it gives to N/A, supercharged, turbocharged vehicles. These little things are real miracle workers. Especially for the high milage vehicles. We've seen the most gains come from the S2000's with higher milage. Not surprising since one of the benefits of these are a better ring seal.
We always have plenty of these in stock:

honestly, if nothing else changed, except the oil consumption, that would be worth it for me. checking the oil only to find you're missing 1/2 qt - 1 qt of oil can get old quick
i forgot to mention also, sometimes i would be cleaning my car or checking my oil, and i noticed my dip stick popped up. used to happen routinely, now it hasn't happened since.

here's a nice lengthy discussion on the item:

Are you running stock PSI on the supercharger? When Comptech did my install, they added a new PCV valve (the one to be use on 04, 05 & 06) and it seems to work OK.
I am going to check the 'vaccum' effect next time I drive the S2000, will let you know my results.
