tim. thanks again for the EPT suggestion. does anyone know if I can find this on line anywhere? my local Honda dealer wants $85, for probably much more product than I need.

Any foam sponge material works. I just did it to my car this year, I had a couple of those sponges that people use for applying tire gel. I just cut them up into small pieces and pushed it into the gaps around the latches. I had extra left over and I put a thick square of it inside the latch towards the rear which keeps pressure on the latch while it is closed, so it doesn't rattle on the inside bar when closed, holding it tight. It worked wonders.

Anyone on here that want to sell some EPT? Like mweston said, Honda wants 70+ dollars for this stuff. I figure when you order you get alot so I am hoping someone will sell me some leftovers.

Just did this by cutting up an old mousepad and removing the latch entirely (with the two screws) which made stuffing in the foam much easier. Great, easy fix!

Good job, yup like I said any foam works, you don't have to buy the expensive Honda stuff.

Honda service bulletins cover this. They're in the library here. Look for 03-023. Not sure it it came out before or after the original fix here.
