Launch at 7000rpm, drop clutch and feather gas to get the tires to hook up.

...and then buy a bus pass cause your car will be in the shop getting a new diff and/or axles.

You are lucky that your clutch hooks up. When I dump the clutch at 6000 RPMs, the car just sits there while the clutch burns away. I have never been able to get the tires to even "chirp".

That is strange gernby, I've never had that horrible clutch slip on a dump.
Sometimes I can't chirp the tires because of the clutch, but that's probably because I'd been driving like all day.

Another thing to think about is: peak torque is at 7500 RPM, so maybe that's where you want to "catch" second gear to get the loudest sound from the tires.
If I could just chirp in third gear (without doin some kind of racing shift) then I would be a happy man.

I agree with JoeD

If I want a quicker launch, I take the two-wheeled Honda out

dump the clutch at 6500-7500 RPM

make sure you don't let it out slowly

So are you saying that you actually get a "chirp" in 2nd gear?
