Default Lawdy plEEEze sombody help me!!!

Little help here...

I recently purchased a brand new '01 S2000 (Yes it was brand new, yes it is an '01...why? $28k seemed like a good price!). I have not yet experienced the 1-2 shift grind, but I do experience a approx 7000rpm rev limiter if the engine is not to full operating temp. Is this normal?

My SRS light also came on (and stayed on) around 2000 miles (just turning 4k now). Anyone else experience this? Is there a quick reset?

I am a gearhead, but I'm only used to (gulp) trucks, and (GULP) Ford trucks at that. Obviously, the same logics do NOT apply!!!

Any advice is appreciated.

I didn't want to bother all those in the serious performance forum!!!

Yes it is normal for the engine to cut off around 7k if the engine isn't warmed up completely. This is so that 9krpms don't hurt your engine when cold. As for the SRS, can't really help you out with that too much, have a dealer check it out.

Thank you for the quick response. I'm trying to coordinate with a new dealer (I am new in the area) for a convenient drop off for the SRS.
