Lazy ass techs at honda
I decided to do some maintenance soon to get a baseline of when everything should be changed in the future. I bought the car December 31, 2011 and have since put 3.8k miles on it. So I was reviewing the inspection sheet I got from the dealership to see what they changed and what not, and noticed these assholes didn't even bother checking my diff fluid! Just a rant, slightly annoyed
Yeah, think of it as a blessing in disguise.
I only know of one Honda technician that I would take my car to and have peace of mind it's in good hands. One, because he actually owns an S2000 that is pushing out upwards of 500HP, and two, he does top notch work on my car as well as other s2k locals. He's our midwest Billman! lol.

Maybe based on the mileage the fluid wasn't due for a change. If there isn't evidence of a leak there really isn't much to check. You can't look inside the diff, all you can do is stick your pinky finger in the fill hole and see if you can touch fluid, it's a tight fit at that. You can't gauge anything about the condition of the fluid without dumping it, so there isn't much to really check. They might have just forgot about it given the low number of rwd vehicles they get in their dealerships, they really don't know much about the S2000 in general as few techs rarely get to work on them. That's how people end up with the wrong fluid in the diff from dealerships. Definitely plan for a change, it is one of the cheapest maintenance items you can do on this car.

Do you know if it was a actual Honda tech or one of the Oil change line guys?
When i worked at Toyota The Lube techs would do this all the time. They'd just look for what ever they could make a quick buck off and check good for everything else.

Ya I'm aware about the whole rdx/pilot fluid getting out in the s2000. I just thought that it wasn't that common of a problem... This friday I'm changing the motor oil, tranny fluid, and diff fluid. Then I will have peace of mind driving it
Im pretty sure a tech serviced it because below where the picture cuts off, it has the tech number that serviced the car...
