Default Learning to drive a S2k

Just sold my B16A last week and picked up my 01 S2k .

So far the experience has been fantastic. Stiff chassis, sharp response and the way the car talks to you...

Haven't had many chances to hammer the car in the vtec range, dont want to lose my licence in the second week living with the car. (we aussies lose our licence if we are caught doing 30km/hr over the limit regardless of the speedzone)

Having lived with a FF for last 10 yrs (on and off track), I need to learn from scratch the characteristic of a FR

Wondering whether any of you know any site that teach ppl how to drive a FR?

Also, any personal experience with the handling characteristic of S2K would be appreciated greatly.

Just keep on driving the car. You will get use to it. Having always had rear wheel drive, I found it an easy car to drive.
I'm glad I don't live down there. I would have lost my licence many times over the years.

Shiet... What would happen if you get pulled over for 137mph in a 40mph?

hehehe - yeah, will go back to GT3 on PS2.

Steve - will do, I am now up to getting the tail out ever so slightly with gentle squeeze of the throttle out of corners, still not entirely sure when Not to lift off the throttle.

Alex - we go to jail and wont get our licence back for 6-12 months. Mind you, most local suburbs have 50km/hr speed limit. 1st gear in S2K to 9K will give you a hefty fine and half your licence gone, 2nd gear to 9K will land you in jail

Hi hlau, welcome to the board. Congrats on your new wheels, i only got mine a few weeks ago as well! If you go over to the Aussie forum, you will find some other local guys to chat to. For stuff on how it drives etc. just do a search on 'handling' and you get enough threads on the subject matter to occupy most of the day. Alternatively you can check out the UK forum on this board who have sticky 'handling' thread on driving this car in less than perfect conditions.

Either way you will find more than enough info here. Happy driving and remember to stay safe! 176KW with VTEC and RWD can catch you off guard if you're not careful! I know how you might feel invincible in corners because it's a hi-po sportscar but the law of physics till apply if you know what I mean. You can't just dive into corners and lift off like you did in your FF...

Which part of Sydney are you in?
This guy operates at Oran Park

http://www.finlays.com.au/

Or there is this guy

Ian Luff Motivation Australia Pty. Ltd.

Advanced Driving

Suite 1, 3 Stennett Road, Ingleburn 2565

PHONE (02) 9829 5399
(I think he runs his at Oran park too otherwise it would be Eastern Creek)

I know people who have done Ian's course and couldnt recommend it enough. I will be booking in as soon as I possibly can and plan to do stage 1 and stage 2 consecutively.

BTW I found the first one with a search engine so if neither are near you give it a go.
