I press the clutch in, shift up, press the gas a little and let go of the clutch slowly. Am I doing it wrong? Sometimes I worry that I might f-up my transmission, but I'm

I did, thanks. Not sure if I'd really want to take it out. I don't drive to the limit and I've never noticed clutch slippage ever, in the CR or in the 06. If the CDV saves the clutch from damage or early wear, that's cool with me.

There's your problem.

If you buy a CTS-V... feel free to do the no-lift shift. In the S2000, however, it's generally a bad idea.

yeah u should lift.

also about blipping the throttle before downshifting, i've always done that in every single manual i've had to smoothen things out. I hate letting my brother drive it, he never freakin' does it and just rides on my damn clutch.

Not until I got the S did I even hear about blipping for downshift, or heel-and-toe, or even hear the term "rev matching" which is what all that is for.
Lifting off the throttle is needed for rev matching when upshifting as well. Higher gear generally means less revs (i.e. less throttle).
