Default Liscense Plate Frames

Anyone have one? I got one from the Honda dealership, that is chrome and says S2000 along the bottom, but after looking at it, I seriously doubt it fits and therefore I don't want to take it out of the package. Our cars have two tabs on the bottom part of where are plates go, that the plates slide behind. I think this is a problem.

Are those tabs maybe only on 2002 and later models, because I would not expect Honda to make a frame that says s2000 on it, that doesn't fit the s2000. But as I said, it really does not look like it would fit without some modifications to the plate frame.

So does anyone else have this same frame? Does it fit?

I have one that was given to me as a gift.

Mine has 2 yellow rubber caps that slip over the 2 tabs on the bottom of the plate frame. When the tag and frame are secured with the 2 screws at the top, these rubber caps rest on the outside of the 2 tabs on the car where the plate would normally slip behind. Even though the bottom of the plate is not secured, I don't get any rattling.

These are generic frames with whatever name they can think of put on them. I couln't find away to use the bottom tabs that are part of the bumper to secure the bottom of the plate / frame.

I think that is probably the same one. I'm debating returning it, because I have to go back to the dealer tomorrow anyways.

Are you happy with yours? Does it look good?

If you like the look of the frame, the fact that it tilts out a little bit at the bottom is really not noticable so it doesn't look like some tacked on piece of junk.

If it had not been given to me as a gift, I probably would not have put it on my car but that's me because I tend to like the clean uncluttered look.

Now that I've had it on there for a few months, I'd say it has actually grown on me and I do like the way it looks. I'd take a pic but camera is fried.

If I were you, I'd put it on, step back and then decide. I don't think the dealer is going to have a big problem with you opening the plastic wrapper if you end up taking it back. Just cut it nice and clean with a scissors so that it can be folded over and taped closed if it turns out you don't like the frame.
