Long trips in an S2000
Hey LoudMusic... this is off topic but I noticed you are in Conway, Arkansas. Honda World in Conway has a used '04 S2K (Silverstone I believe) with 2400 miles and I was wondering if the next time you stop by the dealer you might give the car a quick once over?
Back to your topic... why wouldn't you take a long trip in the car? Toothbrush, undies, etc.... what else does one need?

I can't think of a better way to go! I have a Sequoia, but if it's just hubby and I, I wouldn't even consider the Sequoia over the S2000. Lack of space is a small compromise for such a sweet ride!
Just buy new undies on the road and throw out the old!

I just *sniff* wanted to thank you all for the great comments here. I've been trying to convince my wife to take my 01 S on a long trip from here to Iowa, then Indianapolis and back... I've finally got good points to throw at her, and I'm already working on a drive route that will hit as many scenic routes as possible. And with her fondness for high end photography, I've got a good hook. I say do it! Stay off the highways and see what the old style Route 66 fanaticism is all about!
One tip to prevent fatigue. Use some of the compressible foam earplugs. You can still hear voice and radio, but the wind and engine noise is greatly reduced. I did Denver to LA in 16 hours non-stop and was amazed at the amount I didn't suffer. Noise is very tiring and this little trick makes all the difference,
Whereas this car is by no means a "GT" car, her superb handling would sure cut down on driver fatigue on longer trips. Pack light, for sure. Not the right vehicle to take when you intend on camping! But I think the s2k bunch is more the four star + hotel crowd anyway. I'd actually like to take a "road trip" in ours, but note that I live in the Oklahoma City area, and note on a map how far it is from here to ANYTHING! So that makes an s2k road trip a little bit of a problem, considering the distances and the luggage limitations. But if we lived in New England or between Dan Diego and San Francisco (for example) we'd be taking road trips in her all the time.
Thanks,
Richard
