Default Longevity of an S2000

Hi guys, I'm seriously in a phase where I'm highly considering an S2k purchase here.

It's a 2001 with 90,000 miles - all dealer maintained and documented well. It seems to be in good condition, with recalls taken care of and maintained well.

What should I expect if purchased in terms of longevity of the engine? What common troublespots should I be looking at at this mileage?

The car is a one-owner, dealer maintained vehicle - with no accidents, so I am confident in that respect.

I am simply curious as to what to keep in mind, especially with the high-strung nature of this engine.

Thanks!

If everything is documented and you are 100% sure it's well maintained with serviced correctly. Go for it. Price? Color?

$13k, black with red interior. One owner, well maintained, accident free.

Still thinking on it, but thinking very very very hard.

I got mine from a BWM dealer with 117xxx. One owner. Meticulously maintained. Had to have been an older guy. I'm very happy. About to do the 120K service as well as some other preventative maintenance.

Aye, I think that may be the best way - it seems solid though, assuming its practical to go with a higher milage s2k

Thanks for the input thus far, would be GLAD to get more!

Expect nothing from the engine, ap1 heads are so reliable, even more so if abused!! Buyer beware.

$13,000 sounds a bit steep to me. Documentation is nice, but I think I got a fairly good deal on an 01. It had 69k on it and I got for $13.5k I would try to get it for like 11 grand or so. $12 max for over 90k miles.
