A look into the materials of the S2000
I have an idea for some unique content that may be interesting to some people (and probably not at all to most). The S2000 is a really cool car from a materials point of view, as it was some cool technologies in how it's made (fiber reinforced cylinders, injection molded rocker arms, forged pistons, etc..). We all know the OEM parts for these car are really high quality, and are typically the best choice when it comes to replacing anything. I'm thinking about getting some end-of-life unique parts and cutting them up and polishing them to put under the microscope. I'm lucky to have pretty liberal access to some powerful optical/electron microscopes, and figured I should take advantage of them in some down time. This is mostly for fun, to see what the cars are made up of and how Honda was able to make a durable and capable car. It's mostly engine parts that are interesting to me, but there could always be more if there was outside interest.
Anyways, is there any interest in this? any donor parts? I've a lead on a piston already. I'd love to have a piece of a factory block to see a cross section of the cylinder wall...

I have roasted pistons and a gouged block and damaged cylinder head from an F22C, but the head and block are destined to become a "Mancave coffee table". May have to find a use for the pistons as well.
