Default looking at a 2001...need help!

Hello everyone

I am in need of some help from someone who may be able to do a carfax for me. I am interested in a MY01 that is for sale in my area and wanted to check it out before I go through with anything. If someone could run a carfax on this VIN that would be awesome!

JHMAP11451T002607

Otherwise I will bite the bullet and get it myself. I've been a lurker for years and can't wait to be an actual owner. Anyway I'm sure you guys want to know the goods on the car...

Year: 01
Miles: 9456
Color: Formula Red
Good - Excellent condition I would say

Here's the funny part! Their window sticker...$29,995!!!!!! Sale price on autotrader....$27,995 Price I am curently at....$25,000. I still think this is high for the car BUT they are giving me $2500 over KBB for my trade. So...its right where I want to be. No one in my area wants to go below $24,500 for any 2001's. Anyway, let me know what you guys think. I'm going in on Saturday to wheel and deal

Leon

There are two 2003 S2000 cars at the dealership in Madison, WI. Call Zimbrick Honda off Fish Hatchery. Ask to speak with Jim or Robert. You can tell them Ken McGrew sent you. They're priced at 33, but I'm sure they'll move on them right now. If you leased the car with the current lease rates I'm sure you'd have payments lower than buying. You'd have a warranty. You'd have the last year of the 2.0

A search on autotrader revealed 3 used cars for sale in the area also.

Usually traveling to Milwaukee yields better deals. May be different with this car.

by the way, Russ Darrow is a notoriously currupt dealership. They'll promise one price then try to renig. I traveled in a snow storm to pick up my Miata. They tried to rip me off on my trade in and jack up the promised price by two grand. The price was good on the car, so I made them sell it as promised by assuring them that I would bury them otherwise.

I think I am going to keep looking. Its a nice car but they are not priced good in the market right now. There are actually two for sale just outside of rockford IL that have only 4k miles and they are asking $22,990. I think I will pass this one up. Thanks for the advise guys. Oh...and thanks for the carfax MB06! Some good info in there.

Check out www.cars.com .

I found mine on there last month (2003 Suzuka Blue, mint condition with 2,600 miles for $24,700) in Boston from an Audi dealer).

there are better deals out there.

CARFAX is Worthless,

Let me tell you a short story about CarFax. I wrecked my 01 in March of 03. I wanted it totaled at the initial estimate of 14k. Insurance said no way. I made sure that EVERYTHING was done right (engine wasn't touched). Final bill was 25K. It's like I've got a new car. Last month I got a chance to run a CARFAX report. Everything came back accurate with respect to financing and my personal data. NOTHING showed up under the damage section. I was amazed and of course made about a thousand copies...even though I NEVER plan on selling it.

I guess there are two lessons: 1) CARFAX is crap and 2) a wrecked car CAN be brought back to 99.5%, depending on the nature of the wreck. Hope this helps.
