Was it a convertible or purely open air? I don't see much room for a retractible cloth top.

I bet it didn't have a clock!

Here's a fresh Japanese pic of the six spokes. I can't tell if they're 16" or 17"

I don't know about you guys, but if I had to choose between the SSM and the S2000, I would have taken our concept S over the current production S. That looks like a car that isn't allowed to drive on the streets. I actually love the interior and everything else about the car. I would have loved to own the S looking exactly like that

The first time I saw the SSM I was smitten. The Tokyo Auto Show had a black one that was shown in a magazine. It was to have a five cylinder engine with 270 or more hp. Target weight was 2,200 pounds because of the planned extensive use of aluminum. It would have taken the competition years to catch up. Unfortunately, it probably would have outperformed the NSX. Estimated pricing was about $50,000. I think all turned out for the better. It didn't cost $50,000, it didn't have an expensive to repair structure, and it retained lot of the SSM's design while meeting all of our crash and safety requirements. I still catch myself sometimes just staring at my S thinking, what a beautiful car.
