Looking to buy 2004 S2000...
Update: I checked the carfax and it's clean - no accidents or anything of that nature reported. It w
3 previous owners, the first owner drove it to approx 50,000, where it was offered as a Honda Certified used car.
The next owner had it till 67,000, and then the next owner only had it for about 5,000 miles to give it 72,000. It looks like it was traded in at the dealership it sits at now. It's been for sale for about 1 month, originally listed in the 16,000s.

Gaps look fine.
In all honesty you should contact the 3 previous owners if you are concerned and make sure its 100%. You have to really pay attention to the Trans and mainly the Diff. Find out when the fluids were changed, and check out the suspension in the front and rear.
This is probably just a highway car that people drove to work.

I imported my car from Florida and I found the oringial owner..., I'm glad I did.
Mine has a bit of hood gap as well but my K&N intake box is pushed tight against the hood to get a better seal.

THanks for the help. I'm going to have an idependent honda dealership do their Honda Certified inspection (the dealer said it's what they use to inspect their own cars in order to be certified). They said it will cost $140, which sounds reasonable, right?
If that checks out, then I will probably buy the car because I really like the color and I prefer the styling of the Ap2 to the Ap1.
I agree, it sounds like the original owner used it as a highway commuter.

definitely get it rechecked..better be safe than sorry.
There is a black "weather striping" type of material that shows between the hood and the bumper. This could cause the gap to look unusually large, especially on a yellow car since there would be a lot of contrast.
Ok, This dealer is really slow in getting back to me but hopefully they will soon. The honda dealership down the street said they'd look at it. I just hope they will agree to drive it down there for me (I'm too far away from where the car is to do this myself)
