Default Looking to buy S2000, anyone recognize this one?

As seen in this thread: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=656514

The dealership finally sent me some more pictures. The car was registered in NJ (original owner), VA, and DE.

I thought someone here might recognize/know one of the owners, because it looks like it may have had a turbo kit on it at some point.

At first glance it looked really clean, but I want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before I make any decisions.

Should I stay away from it if it has been boosted? Do you think it has been? That battery placement looks like a hack-job.

i couldn't help any more, but my sixth sense is tingling, and looking at that valve cover... all dirty near the manifold and scratched at the top edge- my first thought was turbo kit.

edit: oh, and the heat shield is missing.

i can't say what one though- im a s/c guy

Be patient and find the right car. People don't relocate the battery in this car for weight distribution, it's already 50/50. They relocate it so the turbocharger assembly fits. Valve cover looks scratched on that side as well...

Yea, I noticed the valve cover was scratched up after someone pointed it out to me. So do you think this would be a "stay away" from car?

The car obviously has not been treated well. Likely a front end accident as well since the hood doesn't line up. The header has been picked up from junk yard, but that could just be to replace an aftermarket header that was removed. The engine bay is in poor condition due to valve cover which indicates when the turbo was installed or removed they were clumsy/careless.

Id still get the car if it's priced accordingly, but no where near what a mint condition car would sell for.
