The rebuilt title is a big no IMHO. I know he says it's due to theft, but even with a carfax report, that car has been pieced together with different parts and with the known mechanical issues, I would steer clear. Why spend 17k on a rebuild S2k that may need 3k or more in work? For 20k CDN you can get far better.

I say pass.

Like others said, pass. Having a rebuilt title is enough for me to pass if the S2000 is going to be street driven. It's likely abused as well.

Go to YouTube and search for SavageGeese's S2000 buyers guide. SavageGeese is a S2000 owner who's also been involved with the s2ki community for a very long time (15+ years according to join date), and his video has tons of useful information.

There's also a thread here in the forum called "What new owners should look out for" or similar to that title, and there's also a thread explaining the differences between different model years, or they might be in the same thread.

Thanks for the advice guys. Come to think of it. I initially said to myself that I wouldn't buy a rebuilt title s2000. However, you see way more rebuilt ones, than clean title ones. Plus the clean title ones are out of my price range. I really do want an s2000, but it I think it's best if I follow everyone's advice here, and not buy a rebuilt one.

I've been looking at s2000 since September, but in the winter months, rarely anyone has them posted for sale. I think I'm just excited, and wanted one. Over that period time I convinced myself that rebuilt was ok due to nothing in my price range for clean title ones.

Anyways, I'm like 99% sure I won't be buying an s2000.

Thanks again for the advice.

Honestly just wait. While I dont know your location, I did find a clean S2k within your price range with decently low mileage. If you just do a periodic search every now and then you'll eventually find one that fits your budget.
