Received ... replied ... received. Thanks.

I didn't realize that the GoFastLab had a separate database from S2KI, so I didn't look at my user information on the 'contact us' form close enough. I've updated it, and will be ordering a Hawker battery as soon as they are in stock.

Are you experiencing any DTs from not driving it? Are you "tending" the battery while it is just sitting? I would be interested in hearing how well the car starts back up when the time comes.
Yes on the DT's - big time. But in the end, it will be worth the wait. Before I start the car, I plan to crank it for about a minute with the spark plugs removed to pump oil through the engine. So I'll probable give the battery a good charge before cranking.

When you install yours, you can save a couple more pounds by getting rid of the stock battery tray and hold down. I think you saw how mine was installed, but if not, here it is:

I don't see the logic behind this. Does the oil pump really even move any oil at 250 RPMs? It seems to me like doing this would be the absolute worst case "cold start" possible. I would think that it would be best to just pour fresh oil in the top of the engine, then get it started as quickly as you can.

I do like that, but I don't know if I have the energy to make the custom brackets. That looks like several hours of work.

I've had a Wal Mart battery in my S2000 for over 4 years with no problems.
The OEM didn't make it a year.

[QUOTE=gernby,Nov 8 2004, 06:33 PM] Interesting ... I thought S2000 talk was for color choices.

Krazik didn't reply to my PM either.

I just put the yellow top Optima in my 2000 S2000, and so far I've seen no issues with it. I got it from Advance Auto Parts and they actually had one in stock. I did not have to order. They told me if I had to order the battery it would take a day.
So consider the Optima it's good battery.
So this Optima went into the holder without modification to the tray or hold-down clamps? And the cables reached no problem?

I think Costco sells a battery that will fit... 36 mo. full replacement guarantee and I think 100 month pro rata replacement.... under $40. Might be worth checking it out.....
