If Comptech is so great, then why are they out of business?

All intakes sound good, Some make power and some don't But none will make a large difference!
are you serious?

a company can't survive alone with just good part, you can have the greatest R&D and industrial design but if your marketing and company ran by abunch of pothead you can pretty much kiss it good bye.

i am not saying comptech is ran by idoit but there's alot more to it than just "good product" at this level of the game. it's not some diy, no overhead, two guys at rental garage kind of deal.

not all intake are the same, spoon snorkel will sound very different from hks intake. most of the short ram will sound the same yes, but saying ALL sounds the same is like saying all women looks the same.

the k&n FIPK sounds sweet from 4-6000rpms. Then when the dragon wakes up till 9000rpms it's a crazed symphony...

Is this true? I never heard about this. I did test drive a car that had some mods on it. Comptech intake and exhaust and that car had a little stutter when you were at a stop and you pushed the clutch all the way in. I figured it had to do with the intake and exhaust mods. There was no ems type of mod.
It is often true. "Tuned" intakes (like the AEM) generally add a little power in a part of the rev range, and the expense of a little power somewhere else. Of course that doesn't matter if you're just trying to let the induction noise out where it can be enjoyed.

AEM CAI = sweet music.
