Like someone said - it's the driver not the car...

Bummer Mike. I only have a couple things to say
1) It's just a car and glad nobody got hurt
2) That'll buff right out
3) There sure are a lot of assholes on this board busting your chops in this thread like they have never made a mistake.

I don't agree with this statement. I first got my car in September of 2003. I put about 5,000 miles on it in between September and February in low 40 degree temps and numerous time in mid 30 degree temps.
I don't agree with either of these statements. The SO2s start losing grip at 60 if you don't know it the do a search because it's a fact. That doesn't mean you can't drive reasonably on them but I wouldn't push it unless the tires were "warmed up" if it was 50 - 60 out and I wouldn't push it at all uner 50.

30 into 2nd is ragging it out and means death spin. I let off in the rain at 60 in 6th and the ass end wanted to lick the front ends face. These cars are squirrely and he knew it.

I am a new owner of a MY04. I have 11k on it with the original RE050's and tread looks good. My question is, do these tires do better in colder and wetter conditions than the S02's? I live in Seattle so obviously I drive in cool temps and wet conditions. I have been VERY gentle with the car in the wet, but I never considered the cool conditions. Regardless, the tires seem to grip really well and I have never had the back end get loose. Any info or thoughts would be great to help prevent the loss of another S.
