Ya this finish on the lotus's arent very nice, but then again they are designed pretty much for the track with street driving in mind. I would love the chance to drive one for awhile.
zip tie, duct tape and glue?

like everyone said, it's a driver's car, not a lexus finish.

it would make a crazy nice second car for sure, hell driving it everyday would be ...nuts. i can't even get in and out of the car without hurting my back and i am not even that tall at all

I'm sure an Elise can chase down a bike on curvy roads. Bikes are muuuch slower in corners (esp compared to an Elise). There was a piece on Top Gear at some point where a Carrera4 beat a bike around a race track.
I saw that piece. It was to prove once and for all that bikes are not faster than cars. They took a regular Carrera4 vs the fastest sport bike on the streets. The Carrera beat it no problem. This is with a professional sport bike racer driving it as well. Two tires are not going to grip as well as 4 around corners.

Except for the lack of space between the two seats, I love the Elise interior. All the aluminum is just pretty.

I would imagine on a nice tight road like the dragon, a focused sports car like an elise or s, would be a shade quicker than a bike.

The Elise is a very focused, very raw car - would make a heck of a weekend/track car. Only 1960lbs with a full tank of gas!

4 wheels vs. 2 wheels.

It's not very hard to chase down motorcycles in cars like the S2000 or Elise, especially in the canyons.

Anybody could chase me down on my motorcycle in the canyons.......I'm just not that fast on two wheels.

Thank you, someone finally stepped up and spoke some sense in here. It is such a pure and funcitonal interior, I love it.

ive kept up with a bike through these twisty roads somewhere in BC (forgot where) with a 1998 Acura 2.5 TL

anything is possible i guess.

the roads were smooth as well, no uneven parts. just depends on the rider i guess.

big balls as opposed to small balls?!?!
haha

Most street riders have no clue how to ride fast in tight stuff.

I would be glad to compare track times from Barber, Tally, RA, and Roebling with car guys to see how it fairs.

During SESM 2004, Tom and I had two sport bikes try to give chase for a while. They'd close right up on us every time there was a short straight, but none of the straights were long enough for them to pass, and we could consistently pull ahead in the corners.

On a track things are somewhat different, becaue a bike can us a different line that gives it major advantages, but these guys were at or close to maximum lean angles and couldn't keep up on the twisty mountain roads.

A stock Elise will pull over a G, and it would take a very good (or very foolish) rider to even *try* to keep up on a really tight mountain road.

Give almost any bike a little straight to stretch it's legs and just about any car is going to be left behind.
