You will find the leather to be pretty much par for any non-luxo car. You can't compare it to Jag or Lexus or MB or Bentley but then you aren't paying those prices either. I would have actually preferred cloth on the seats which is less slippery and breaths better especially with the exposure to the environment we have. It would have been cheaper too.

I'm a big-butted 215 pounder, very clumsy, often flop down into the seats because of my bad back. Three months and 3500 miles, and I see no evidence of any premature wear on the leather. I do keep the car garaged, and will not leave it out in the sun top-down for any substantial periods of time.

There may be some variability from car-to-car in terms of leather wear, but I recently saw a brand new Suzuka blue in a showroom & it was already showing the shiny leather on the side & creases you describe- which really seems premature. I don't think Honda went with the best leather & agree that a fabric option would be worthwhile.

The leather used on our seats is pretty bad, even by automotive standards. I've already ripped mine and have seen several others in the trimmers being repaired or having panels replaced.

A complete set of replacement skins would cost about $1750. I realise that's quite a bit of mulah, but there's a whole lot of work involved and very nice leather.

I'd also need at least three orders, as the process involves having my seats pulled down and redone for the patterns and test fitting.

The upside is that you can have any combination of leather colour and stitching you would like. Want yellow sides and black inserts? No problem. Want tan leather? No problem.

If you are interested I would suggest starting a group buy. Anything above 3 and we could even knock some off the price.

Hmm... my 97 M3's nappa leather looks fine to me after over 60k miles...
and I applied conditioner twice.... thats why I wanted to see some photos of
used S2000 leather..
(Oh ya, my leather is also much softer than S2000's though not necessary good
for a sports car)
