Lousy Leather ??
I just had honda warranty my seats bc the driver side was toast and i am very careful when i get out of the car. I am six foot one though and 240 pounds. I have devised a way of getting in and out though that prevents me from rubbing on the seats so much. I am also considering purchasing the wet okle neoprene seat covers that look fantastic on the car

It doesn't matter what others think, do what you like.
And post pictures. I could do with a laugh
Seriously, before denuding a US Tourist or a poor sheep, do a search on the neoprene covers from some company in Hawaii. They look great.
Katzkin makes a kit for the S2000.
I did the katzkin kit on my '00 Civic Si, and I think the quality was pretty good. For some reason, it didn't feel as good as the S2000 leather, but it seemed to wear alot better. I did the installation myself, it took about 10 hours from removal of the seats from the car, till they were bolted back in. I got the kit for $600 on a groupbuy, and that was for the two front seats, rear seat, center console, and door armrests. Pretty good deal I think.
Here's a pic of the S2k from Katzkin's website:

My car is two months old, with 2k miles. One panel on the drivers side down low that I probably rub getting in and out of, (in my small garage), looks like 15 year old leather. It has been conditioned, (it started out looking not to good). The one panel looks so bad that Honda is replacing the entire top half of the drivers seat with a new cover.
How bad do the seats have be to get a warranty replacement from Honda ?
I'm working hard with conditioner to keep them looking OK, but maybe I should just let them deteriorate and get a new set of covers ?

I am surprised that this is such a common issue. I have a '93 Lincoln Mark VIII with 140,000 miles, that hasn't been garaged in 5 years, and to my knowledge, hasn't ever been "conditioned", and it's leather still looks great. The only sign of age is some discoloration in the "wrinkles". Where could a company find leather SOOO crappy, that it wouldn't last two years with decent care? Could it be made from ... chicken skin?
i've seen high quality leather like volvo used in their 60's cars fall apart as it was very thin. At the same time i had mercedes cars with cheaper quality leather last forever and be capable of being refinished cause it was thick shit
