FWD FTL.

Power is nothing without control.... and a 500hp car is nothing without reliability.

Sadly Audi/VW and reliability are not usually found in the same sentence together, unless it's to point out that they're antonyms.

I own a jetta and it has been a good car, so not sure what all the hate on VW is. If i had to give mt s2k up for one it would be a new audi or something though.

I loved my 92 Corrado VR6 SLC, but mine was a lemon I still love the Corrado though.

Straight trade - I say do it and pick up another S down the road, Corrados are getting much harder to find in decent condition with low miles, plus this one has 500hp

The cars are fantastic when they're running, the design is great too... however what everyone hates is the reliability (or lack thereof).

I would never let a family member buy one without a lecture (in hopes that they would change their minds).

Done deal, sticking with s2k.

Apparently dogbone straightcut gears (whatever that means)

Is HORRIBLE for DD and they wear quick, u need to double clutch etc..

i am ok w/ having a bad daily but that is just too much.

Not sad at all because i still get to stay in my s2k

I too am a corrado fan, and one day I might actually pull the trigger, but I don't know. Book wise the car isn't worth as much as your S2000, and 40K invested into a car won't get anywhere near that back unless it has some intrinsic value (liek a movie car) or is compleltely done, like show ready.
But yeah, love corrados, but itd have to be a silver or black slc manual for me to even begin to consider.
How's the bodywork? Bodywork alot of the time costs more than mechanical.

I don't know about you guys, but i would never buy a heavily modded car. You're asking for a total disaster. Especially a 500+hp car. Who knows how many times they've taken it to the track or ragged on it.

Always look for stock. It should be the number one rule when buying a car.

my brother had a corrado for ~4 years, worst experience with a car ever, i will NEVER own a VW, worst electrical gremlins I've ever seen.

You take things like honda reliability for granted until you see/experience all the hassles of VW engineering...

I'd prefer a Scirocco (My exgf had a mint one back in 1989 but was stolen. Grrr.) My friend had a brand new Corrado, but wrapped it around a pole on a rainy day. He was probably going around 50 at the time but the front of the car was about 10 feet away from the rear.
