Love the s2000 but...
Daily driven dogbox with straight cut gears? Its like polar opposites.
I highly suggest you read up on how these transmissions work, how much they cost, and how often they need servicing before you jump on this.
Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen, unless it is not your daily driver..

That car is a crock of shit. 32# injectors will barely get you to 320whp, and even that is unsafe. I pushed 42# injectors to 490whp through TONS of fuel pressure, again not safe.
EDIT: It has an FMU. Run. Fast.
FMU is not standalone. It's a horrible band aid.

Actually thats just an old mod list, there are all sorts of different stuff on there now, some diff tranny components (have been doing a lot of reasearch) however i have decided that i am sticking with the S2000, its just too much to give up. RWD, 9k redline, Convertible etc...
And as far as that it has Autotronic standalone now.. however i am not trading the S, just too good of a car.

YOu did the right thing saying no to a 500whp model.
I'm a VW nut, my last 5 cars before the S were highly modified golfs and polos. If I hadn't got the S a Corrado might have been next.
The value of a Corrado is in the stock car, with just a few 'oem+' enhancements. The G60 1800 supercharged engine is a sweet engine. It'll run for miles and miles with no oil or water in it (I know, I've tried!). The G-Lader supercharger needs rebuilding every once in a while, and it's not cheap, that's the main downside of owning one of these.
The VR6 is a bit of a gas guzzler, but I guess you don't care about that, but it also ruins the balance of this great handling car, 2.9 v6 in the front of a small coupe just isn't doing it.
230whp is absolute limit for front wheel drive, no matter how good the chassis is, and you can get that on the Corrado G60 with minimal mods (SC pulley, intake, manifold, system), and have a nice little runaround.
Still one of the best handling FF cars ever made, and still on the list of cars to drive before you die.
I'm contemplating picking up a mint stock as a DD if I find the S too much work as a DD. They're so cheap nowadays.
Lastly, to the people saying about reliability... well, if you take the 500 hp out of the equation, the Corrado is known for it's rock solid reliability.
Great cars, love 'em. Sorry for the essay.

yeah that power to fwd ftl. Plus reliability is complete crap with most vw's!
If you like them better than just do it. I really don't get why soo many people ask if they should get rid of their car or trade etc. Ask yourself not people on a forum.

It's your dream car, right!!! Enough said...Get it. I bought my dream car and it took me several years to raise the money for it. Not too many people can say that they own their dream car...Be one of those people. If it doesn't work out you can alway come back to the s.

But the performance does not even compare with the s2000
