Default Low cost performance...

I'm looking at a few low-cost upgrades on my 04 S2000, and I'm looking to see who has had how much luck with what. I'm primarily looking at either addding in a DC or OBX header, or a K and N Short Ram intake. I've also thought about going with a lightened flywheel, but I think the cost to install would be more than I want to pay. So, if you had approximately $300 burning a hole in your pocket, where would you put it for the most bang for the buck? Thanks!

Supercharger 5-6k

Don't expect anythnig from bolt ons. Gears are prolly the best bang for the buck.

$300 can get you a little bling.

DC or OBX header
DC will gain you nothing, many have reported LOSING power.

or a K and N Short Ram intake.
Unless this is a FIPK kit, you will lose about 1hp for every 3 degrees increase in intake temp. The engine bay can get as hot as 70 degrees C. You do the math. A Short Ram intake for this car is a HOT AIR INTAKE.

I've also thought about going with a lightened flywheel
This may allow your engine to rev a bit more quickly. Power gain? ZIP.

You'll spend 300 bucks to lose a bit of weight and a whole lot of nothing. "Mugen" or "Spoon" decals will cost a few bucks and will make your car go the speed of light.

Buy a good intake system, I recomend either the Comptech or the K&N FIPK. They will get you a few hp, but more than anything they sound and look nice. Although I did notice more midrange with my Comptech. The S2000 is not a car that responds favorably to cheap mods. Unless you can afford to play, stay stock.

Just save up and get gears or a S/C.

Get a test pipe. That's probably the best thing you can get powerwise under $300. You'll even have $200 left over.
