Low to Mid 20 year Old s2000 drivers???
Hey Everyone,
I'm a 21 year old college student and I should be getting my s2000 by the end of the month..My family has a rough car insurance history because of my little sisters horrible driving, and my pops occasional heavy foot..I'm wondering how much younger guys on this board are paying for insurance premiums? What company do you use, state do you live in, and monthly payments do you make? I know everyones own history makes a difference in terms of premiums but I have as clean a record as one could have..What companies should I look in the direction towards? Older guys your more then welcome to chime in with your numbers also..Thanks guys

Hey s2000speed,
I'm 25, so probably at the upper edge of your age bracket, but here's what I pay...
'02 S2000, daily driven at 30k miles a year
$100k / $300k / $100k coverage
$500 collision deductible, $100 comprehensive deductible
I live in San Jose, California
My premium is $700 for 6 months with just the S2000 on the policy
My driving record has no points on it
My insurance company is Mercury
I bought the car when I was 23, and was paying more at the time (same insurance company). My premium used to be $900 for 6 months. Once I turned 25 (and therefore accumulated 8 years of driving experience), it dropped to the current level.

Cyber X,
Thats ridiculous! I pay $2600 year in Delaware. Same coverage. No accidents (ever) no tickets (in last four years). No DWI (ever).
Does Mercury insure the East Coast?
23yrs old.
'01 daily driven 12k a year.

Pellis2k...
I take it by your response that these board are no longer here to post any of our own experiences or to post about anything thats just on our minds at the time...Afterall, since the s2000 has been out for 4 years now hasn't almost every possible topic been discussed already??? I guess we should just keep our questions to ourselves and use the SEARCH function so that I can find information about some guy that asked the same question 4 YEARS ago... Cyber_x I appreciate the reply, and all of the information you provided...Need more productive responses like that around here...Thanks guys

I have $100 deductibles. Couple of tickets. I think I'm with Nationwide (I say "think" because I use a local agent who shops around for the best rates).
I pay about $960 a year. I'm 28.

s2000speed / blaks2k,
Is Philadelphia pretty urban with significant crime? I've never been out there so I don't know...but San Jose is very suburban and I'm sure that contributes to the lower rates. My rates in Los Angeles were MUCH higher than my rates in San Jose.

I hate the fact that insurance quotes require a credit check. My credit is stellar (in part because I don't have 99 people checking it) and I want to keep it that way. Too many inquiries and they ding the score.
Why can't they just ask what your ballpark score is? They could certainly dump you if you lied!
