s2000speed,

Just tried to send you a PM, but my hotel internet connection is messed up. . . so I'll try this again.

My Erie Insurance agent is named Chris Goebel, and he owns Goebel Ins. Agency - (215) 465-9311. He is definitely a stand up guy in the insurance business, and very helpful (helped out a lot with some apartment flooding issues). He saved me quite a bit of $$ when I first moved to Philly, so its worth giving him a call. You never know what he can do for you.

I'm switching over to All State next week with some random agent I found on the internet. I'll be saving about $800/year. I hope that giving up the customer service is worth the money saved. We'll see. Oh, Geico gave a similar rate, but doesn't do renter's, so I went with All State.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I've done a lot of research over the past few weeks, so I might be able to offer up some advice on car insurance quotes (renter's insurance too).

MY '00 S2000 registered in Cologne, Germany, garaged.

Liability 50 Million EUR per accident (legal minimum!)
1000 ded. on collision
150 on comp.
15000km per year driven
March-October season only (8months)

1800 EUR a year premium
clean 8 years damage-free record, age 25

Nice thing was that I was insured with Allstate in the states, and since Allstate exists here, they accepted my good record with them when I got to Germany.

YMMV

I have speeding ticket on my record. I heard also the speed of the ticket also count for how much the insurance rates will be. I pay 4200 a year and it kinda suck. I really want some mods but holding out. I thought my premium would have drop but it didn't. I have 100-300-100

$500 deductable. 21 years old, MY02 (bought used) ~$120/mo with State Farm. Accidents & speeding tickets (typical male, what can I say) but living in Alabama probably makes it cheap.

You Americans suck!

Hahaha!

I make my money in US dollars, and enjoy paying my bills in Canadian.

I'm 25, my S2000 is actually up now to 1850 cnd per year for insurance. The Supra is about 2200 per year. The exchange rate I get when the bank buys USD from me is 1.30. Cheap government monopoly insurance!

Allkingz,

In defense of everyone on this thread, rates are far from static. I don't want to search rates from months ago, because they are certain to be higher.

I am sure you know that market performance a key aspect of the going insurance rates. With insurance as high as it is (my third largest expendature), I say give people a free pass on this topic.
