just use a good dino oil (that means regular oil, not synthetic)... specs are in the manual.
differing opinions out there, but i think you should wait until about 10,000 miles to go synthetic, if you are going to change to synthetic.

Just curious, is there a low oil light that comes on if your car is very low on oil?

You can get oil NON-SYNTHETIC 10W-30 mineral oil from Honda to be consistent with what they use. It is basically repackaged NON-SYNTHETIC Mobil 10w-30.

Nope. Not until oil pressure drops off. There's no float gauge or anything like that (though, in our car, there probably should be).

just the dummy light, and by the time that comes on, you're a dummy for not checking your oil sooner.

back in the day, i ran mobil 10w30. be careful though. don't get mobil one. you don't want to run synthetic for a while yet.

So, the '04 burns oil...i guess it's normal. The first 3500 miles i burn two quarts of Honda 10w30. Now at 6100miles i burn little over 1/2 quart of Castrol GTX 10w30.
