My 04 has never used a drop of oil. I drive it hard most of the time, but like everyone else says i check it once a week if i drive it or not.

umm, you ever changed your oil? your 07 should not be using ANY oil at all! I go 5k w/o coming off the top mark on the stick...
Did you design the car?

It will vary from car to car and from driver to driver. I can drive my 06 for a few thousand miles and not burn a drop....if, I do not "vtec" much and drive moderately.

Now, if I'm beating the crap out of the car, rev matching, sitting above 6k a lot, etc., I can definitely burn half a quart within 3k miles.

The AP2 life is definitely a lot more laxed in the oil consumption department compared to my previous AP1.

no I did not design the car

I tend to drive on the harder side and still don't burn a drop. but it is still relatively new...well agewise. haha. had it for 5 months so far...18k miles already though.

I can only speak for myself. I didn't design the car, but my car doesn't use any oil either, regardless of how I drive it (and it's usually driven very hard). Like every other car on the road, oil consumption varies for a WIDE variety of reasons, not just differences in driving styles or individual cars. Bottom line is that Honda advises checking the oil at every gas stop, and failure to do so is asking for trouble.

It's HARD to check at every stop when you know it's always going to be right at the full mark, but ONCE since getting my car it has actually gulped down a quart of oil in the time it takes to burn a tank of gas (and I have no idea why). Honda's advice is good advice, and everyone really should RTFM.

Same here, but my car is an MY00 AP1 and has a few more miles, plus FI.

Odds are that your general oil usage pattern won't change much, until the engine is really crapped out (if then), but I'd still suggest checking it regularly. I've seen a quart vanish in the time it takes to burn a tank of gas, time spent in normal driving, which normally produces zero oil use with my car. Better to check regularly than to discover a low oil level when VTEC refuses to engage or something worse happens.

try to make it a weekly routine of checking your oil and having a little bit for reserve in these cases so that you can add some.

the factory oil capacity is 5.1 quarts, keep it around there.

edit:
oops, forgot you're the big block, nvm that oil capacity...
haha, that is the first time ive heard the ap2 referred to as "the big block." i can visualize someone telling a chevy guy that they have the big block s2000, hilarious.
