I got the Tein S a couple of weeks ago and I love them! While researching and I could be wrong, the S drops about an inch while the H drops barely half an inch. Ride quality hasn't changed much in my opinion. I see that you're in the bay area...got my springs from Vex motorsports in Milpitas. As far as alignment, you can go to Auto Innovations (in Milpitas as well) and ask for Orlando.

i just installed teins s-techs on my 2000 ap1 and they ride fine with about a 1 inch drop around. If you have an 00 or 01 you should probably get the drive shaft spacers. all the springs everyone named are pretty good in my opinion just personal preference man.

Before deciding whether or not you need half shaft spacers I strongly suggest reading this entire thread. It is horribly long, but is likely to save you money, time, and wasted effort. If, after reading the (entire) thread you are still confused, PM Billman250 and ask for his advice regarding the spacers.

Depends on the springs you get. Personally, I would also upgrade the shocks as well. I ran with lowering springs and OEM shocks for awhile and never had a problem, but after some research, I had found some people that had blown out some OEM shocks on lowering springs. Just some advice, that's all.
The general consensus is that the rare cases where shocks have blown after lowering has not actually been due to the lowering. Mechanically, there is just no reason for the shocks to "blow," because lowering the car does not change their range of operation (neither the stroke nor limits are changed), so they continue to work well within their design range.

At the same time, many people have accumulated high mileage, often including lots of very hard driving, with a slight drop over the OEM Showa coil-overs. It is a mistake to confuse their lack of adjustability with inferior quality. Some of the high end fully adjustable coil over systems use exactly the same shock with alternate valving and adjustability added in for extra flexability. Anyway, both the experience of the majority of people who have lowered their S2000, and the mechanics involved, pretty much prove that the "blown shock" theory is based on a few outliers that never actually made any effort to determine the real reason their shocks failed.

Hmm, If the TEIN S techs are only a 1 inch drop, I think I might go with the espelirs instead for the more aggressive look. Thank you guys for all your help! I'm still going to go out to my local meets to check out what people are lowered on, maybe even ask for a ride along. At this point, looks like all I have to choose is what spring.

sorry, not trying to be an arse but...

did you happen to have some seat time in your s? i mean alot of people make the

rookie mistake of changing everything before hitting the "track". talk to the guy

at the race forum, some of them is rocking stock suspension and swear by it.

It's more than handful for most of the s driver to say the least, of course it's not

as "kool" looking as slammed s2k but you also don't have to deal with bumpsteer,

limited suspension travel, bumpstop riding, revalving, etc.

you can go to the local place and check it out but driving on the street only reveal

one of the many "characteristic" of a spring.

if you have your heart set on lowering spring, the least you can do is have all the

spring rate side by side to compare

I did a search, but I didn't really come up with much information on the Swift springs, do you guys know how they compare to the Tein S-Techs?!
