Its very easy to do. First remove the plastic cover under the steering wheel, this is held in by 3 philips head screws. After you have removed the cover you'll notice 2 bolts about 8 inchs back from the steering wheel, remove both of these bolts, I believe they are a 12 or 14 mm in size. remove both of those bolts. Then if you look down even farther down the steering colume you'll see 2 more bolts. They are somewhat hidden behind the vent duct with all the holes in it. Remove the 1 push clip that holds the vent duct, move it out of the way. After you move it out of the way you'll see the next 2 bolts. Remove those as well. MAKE SURE YOU SUPPORT THE STEERING WHEEL--DO NOT LET THE WHEEL FALL DOWN, ITS BEST TO HAVE SOME ONE HOLD IT WHILE YOU GET OUT FROM UNDER THE WHEEL... Next gentlely pull on the dash starting around the steering and working towards the outside. The dash is held in with clips not screws. After you get the dash pulled off disconnect the electrical connectors to the dash and set it aside. You'll see the 4 screws(I think) that you'll need to remove to extract the gauge cluster.

First, copy down your radio presets and have your unlock code handy--then disconnect the battery (via 10mm socket).

Wait 3 minutes for the airbag to discharge. I've seen cars run into in their own driveways and garage doors falling on cars in garages, and this simple step can save your life when you lean in close to the airbag!

You'll also have to pull it out/around the ignition key cylinder and unsnap it from the upper cover.

The bolts and nuts are 12 mm. Remove the now-loose upper column cover.

What darkknight forgot--THERE ARE 2 SCREWS RETAINING THE INSTRUMENT PANEL:

With a tiny flat-headed screwdriver, pry out the 2 plastic screw covers from above the gauge display (in the top, oriented vertically).

Remove the phillips head screws from within! Then you can pull the instrument panel (clips all around).

The gauge cluster has a couple brackets, so a total of 6 screws, however there's a black plastic retaining ring with clips that hook below.

There are 4 clips on bottom and two prongs on either side which can all be released with the edge of your finger.

When you lift the clear plastic panel, the glass will probably stick to it, try to separate them without lifting the glass too much, or some cushions might fall/slip out.

Hope this helps,

Randy

PS: When you reinstall everything, turn off the wipers before turning on the key! (Unlock your radio and redo radio presets.)

PPS: PM me if you want a copy of the install directions from the Gauge Color-Change Kit which includes B&W pictures of the bolts/nuts and connectors on the back of the instrument panel.
