Instrument Cluster Removal with Pics
Well this is my first how-to post, this is just to show people how to change or remove the instrument cluster with pics. It took me about 45 minutes with the removal and reinstall and taking pics and getting tools. So it should take you less then 30 minutes with the right tools in hand.
1 - This is to start!
?action=view¤t=IMG_0811.jpg&newest=1
2 - Now look under the Steering wheel and find these 3 screws and take them out, right here in the pic!
3 - Once you taken the 3 screws out lower the bottom of the steering wheel cover.
4 - Next look under the steering wheel and find 4 12mm bolt that's holding the steering wheel in place, remove these so that the steering wheel can be lower to take out the cluster cover.
5 - After the steering wheel is lower look for these two round small cover in front of the cluster itself, try to pry them out with something and there should be 2 screws, 1 under each cover.
6 - once you get them out, start popping the cluster cover out, just go around the cover and pry it out with a flat head. It should come out pretty easy, work it carefully so that you don't scratch it. Once it's out reach back and unplug 3 on the left and 1 on the right
7 - then the next step after taking the cover out is the last 4 screw holding the cluster itself in place, unscrew them but be careful with the two on top. It has a tap for the screw to screw into don't loose them. Once you taken those out, reach back and unplug the plugs i don't remember how many, maybe 3 and you're DONE!!!
SO hopefully this will help someone.

For more info on dash cluster replacement go to Qube Engineering (sponsor here)he has a very detailed pictorial on this operation on their website. Easiest to go direct but tons of links to their directions if you search S2KI for Qube, dash cluster, etc.

This is a pretty good write up for the panel removal and lowering of the steering wheel, I've done it a few times and it is pretty accurate.
