last winter i wanted to test my snow tires out. took the car out top down while it was snowing... cruised on the highway, drove backroads and did donuts in the parking lot. just like with rain, as long as you keep going , nothign gets in the car.

Not in the S.. but when I was in Alaska I had the top off my Suzuki Samurai at 0 degrees...

Definitely got a lot of looks...but think about it... after it's -30 to -40 all winter... 0 feels warm.

My personal threshold is 45F. Been there several time so far this fall. Usually in a dress shirt and tie, no jacket. I love cool weather. Cool + sunny = ideal. The 20 mile stretch of the Merritt Parkway from Bridgeport to Stamford in southern CT has been beautiful the past few weeks with the trees showing fall colors. The best way to enjoy it is top down.

Last winter I drove top down to work in 30 degree weather at highway speeds. I had my leather jacket on and wish I had gloves at the time too. But thank goodness for that footwell heater! We'll see how far down the temps go in Texas (mid-20's is usually the lowest) this winter.

Whoa, you guys turn on the heat? I'm not sure if I'm going to allow those entries.

Not a bad idea though; should keep my gal from complaining next time.

44 degrees F acording to the temp gauge. on the plastic window. I did that in my 1980 Fiat Spider (r.i.p) and the window cracked. But later I learned you can put it down in freezing temperatures, but you have to let the car warm up, turn on the heat and let the window warm up and expand. I did this with my 1983 Alfa Spider (absolute money pit, good riddence).

Be careful putting your top down when it's cold-- our tops have been known to do some bad things in low temps.

sometimes i leave the top down in the garage so it is already down.....then i take it out in 30 degree weather...however, before putting it up...i wait for a warmer day to not put any strain or just heat up the top a little...

ill never really put the top down when its too cold if its not already down

must be fun driving in the snow with the top down..too bad my car doesn't see snow lol
