ls1/ls2 s2000
LS2 FTW. Nice round 400 horses, gobs of torque and should be enough wrecked 05+ GTOs, Corvettes, etc to find a good one. If you're really interested in doing this head over to HybridZ.org. Its a huge site for swapping motors in the S30, S130, Z31, Z32 and Z33. Anything from RB, SR, 2JZ, KA, all the L motors, SBCs, SBFs, big blocks, diesels, and turbine has been done. There is a ton of info there (if you can get past the idiot moderators) and a lot of nice people. Check it out - a wealth of information.
For your swap you'll surely need:
Custom motor mounts
Custom headers
Custom driveshaft
LSx + tranny
Im sure there will be some tranny tunnel cutting/work
And assuming you can get it in there, who knows if firewall/inner fender/ whatever will have to be modified.
Its going to be a HUGE project with big results if done correctly - Like anything else, TIME + MONEY + SKILL.
On a scale of 1-10, how serious are you? 10 being most.

If you've already got a supercharged S2000, what's the point in swapping in a LS1? It's not going to be any faster. I'm with the "go big or go home" crowd on this one.
Get it done!
Dropping any of the LS engines in the S2000 would make it one of the best roadsters in the world. Combining the awesome build quality, engineering, and focus of Honda with an outstanding GM small block is a what I have always wanted to see and experience. Build two!

LS7 is 17,000 turn key- include GM ECU
I say go for the LS1/LS2- Prolly around 3-5000 for the engine- go onto pick a part.com . A guy here got his engine cheap from there and it included everything. My Uncle and I were discussing this possibility this past Friday up at Mid- Ohio. He has a 427 in his 911- he seems to think anything is possible- money talks. I say you should do it, prolly could get around 500 hp to the rear wheels for about 10-12 including new drivetrain.
