Unhappy Maint Light

I'm doing the usual to reset the maintenance light and it won't reset (go off).

I am holding down the cancel button before turning the ignition, then I am turning the key into the on position, while still holding down the cancel button... After holding the button for about 30 secs... it still won't go out!

What I am doing wrong... I have reset it before without any problem... the car has about 70K miles on it now.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You're holding down the WRONG button. It's NOT the "cancel" button.

or your owner's manual.

Sh!t happens.
At least you tried to reset it on your own and didn't post the usual:

"HELP! My Maint. R'Quired light just started to blink. What's wrong with my car?"
