You do not have to take off the visor or A-pillar to do this install. Trust me...I did it.

Simply feed the wire along the edge and gently push it under with something flat like a screwdriver. It fits nicely and only takes about 35 minutes.

Plug it into the fuse box by getting a female wire connector at Radio Shack. I can't remember the gauge. Just bring them the wire and they'll get you right gauge.

Crimp it on the wire and plug it in.....YOUR DONE!

Yes, but then the wire gets in the way. Why not take the five minutes to install it right? User the Hardwire kit in the S, and the cig lighter in your other car?

You just need to pull the A-Pillar up enough get the wire back there. don't worry about what the shop did. They have to get the pillar back in place too. So you should have some space. I too have a gauge pod installed, but I can pull the a-pillar out some without having to disconnect any thing. To remove it, I do have to disconnect the wires.
