For the past 1000 miles I've had the Maint Req'd light flash at startup since I didn't take my car into the stealership (chose outside mechanic) for the regular oil change so it hasn't been reset since then. Today though while driving the light lit up and stayed on the whole time. Should I be worried or is this just how it nags you? If it's just that, how do I turn it off?

Yeah, do that. Damn dealership forgets to reset mine all the f'n time....

 

I think this has happened to two different owners this weekend.

 

we need a huge bold faced sticky about the maint req'd light.. these are popping up like crazy

 

That's because the damn tech's at the dealers never remember to do this for their customers. I've yet to have the dealer reset mine, and my car is in for service monthly.

Good thing it's simple to do, it only takes a few seconds.
