Default Maintanance Required Light Blinks

When I start the car the maintanance required light blinks for a few seconds after all the other normal start-up lights have gone off. It didn't do this before.

Any thoughts?

It's just the car telling you its getting close to a service check. Does the car have around 7,000 miles on it? There is a FAQ on the board about reseting the maint. req. light.

Yes, in fact it is approaching 7k. I have already had the oil changed. I'll look for the faq.

Thanks,

Hugh

The instructions to reset the light are also in the owners manual.

instructions in the manuel are insufficient.

turn the key to the accessories position. Then hold the trip reset button. turn the key to the on position(while still holding the button). I'm not sure if you need to start the engine, but why not.
