Default Maintenace Requried Light

i know the maintenace required light comes on around 7000 miles. i now have about 13850 miles and the maintenace required light comes on now when i start up. has anyone else had their light come on around this mileage? im just curious if this is normal or if i should take it to the dealer because its the ECU telling me there is a problem...

Yes you should take it to the dealer...

...because you need an oil change.

The maintenance reqd light means nothing more than that. Every 7500 miles the light will come on to remind you of this. If you change your own oil you can learn how to turn it off yourself by looking through the FAQ section from the link above.

The other day driving at 65 in 4th I saw the light flash on twice for less than a second. I couldn't get it to do it again, and have not seen it since. I had my oil changed about 2K miles ago????

What else does that litttle light mean?

If it's anything like every other Honda I've driven... you should have a chart inside your manuals... telling you what each "indicator" means... and what maintenance is due at certain mileages.
